12th Street Promenade

Walk of Fame

The 12th Street Promenade is a pedestrian pathway in the heart of Halperin Park that literally and symbolically rejoins a once-vital municipal thoroughfare.

More importantly, the Promenade will include a walk of fame that serves as an engaging and educational stroll through the past, offering visitors the opportunity to “meet” citizens who defined Oak Cliff’s dramatic past, vibrant present and bold future.

Up to 12 individuals will be permanently featured in the Promenade’s construction via custom bronze and limestone pavers when Halperin Park opens next spring, with additional honorees added over time based on community input.
